We like to make pictures easy for the surfer.....  first a thumbnail.... then go  to another page for the full size picture.  Then to return the user simply clicks on the picture.  This gives the user the option of waiting to look at the large picture if  they want to.

 

This picture is a small thumbnail and comes on line quite quickly.  When you  click on it you will see a large version of the same picture, but on another page and it will take longer to come up, but if you are interested in the picutre you won't mind waiting.
